Dude, it's a bad time of the year to be using the word profitability and investment in the same sentence. ;-)
At that price, it's worth buying and then getting rid of second hand if you're going to upgrade to a PS3 at a later date (waiting for prices to come down).
Also, the 180 model needs to come down to match the Wii and the Arcade really is a bit of a naff deal me things, though doesn't it come with wireless controllers now?
I reckon Wii and PS3 will have to follow suite to keep up in sales this xmas..

I did last month, wanted to get a 1m headphone extension lead because the one on my sony in-ear headphones has all frayed..

This is a game site and alot of posters can't even spell, let alone know what firmware is..
not EVERYONE needs or wants a HD in their console.. And viola, so came the 360 with the choice. I think it's a good think that you have a choice and before people start complaining about making the task hard for developers, that's just rubbish, it's very easy to detect if the drive is present an code an interface that functions with or without the drive.
